Without a doubt, Danang is one of the best destinations in Vietnam. It’s stunning beaches, golf courses and proximity to a variety of incredible tourism sites make the city and surrounding area a must stop on any visit to the country.
One popular area, which has had tremendous investment and growth, is the Ba Na Hills. The beautiful mountains and cooler temperatures, plus the newly opened 4-star Mercure French Village make it an intriguing place to stopover for the night.
Foothills, golf and jungle: Oh My! This newly opened 18-hole course has all of Asia abuzz for its stunning environment.
Luke Donald, the former world rankings number one in 2011, designed the course as his inaugural project. The course is also managed by IMG Prestige, which ensures that the facilities, grounds and user-experience remain luxurious and professionally run.
Building upon the natural terrain, the course is set to become one of the best in Asia, with a stunning backdrop of the sublime mountain ranges and surrounding wild verdant forests. Each hole will seem like a unique experience, with the rolling topography and sharp changes in elevation. More than likely you will need every club in your bag. Water also plays a big theme, with challenges aplenty for every level of golfer. The entire premises are also floodlit, giving golfers the opportunity to play a round at night!
The on-site amenities include an incredible clubhouse overlooking the 18th hole, with one main dining hall as well as two private dining rooms. Other features include a relaxation room, outdoor veranda and full locker rooms. Nearby are a floodlit, all weather, covered driving range, a golf academy and pro shop

Cable Car – Into the Sky
Ascend up to Heaven with the world’s longest cable car system.
Perhaps Ba Na is best known for it’s Swiss made phenomenal cable car route, dubbed by both CNN and the Daily Telegraph as “one of the ten most impressive cable car systems in the world.”
Taking a whopping 17 minutes from ground to peak, the 201-cabin system moves up to 3000 people every hour. It holds the record as the longest non-stop single-track system at 5801 meters in length as well as the highest climb single-track system reaching a height of 1368 meters.
Being the only way to reach the top, the facilities are designed to simply and quickly user people up to the top – and the ride itself is, as expected, breathtaking.
On a sunny day the jungle and waterfalls below stretch out into the distance, and if the landscape is covered in mist and fog, one feels as though they are lost in time, entering a Jurassic world, untouched and wild.
Either way, have your camera ready, as the ride has that once-in-a-lifetime feel. Stupendous, superb, sublime: it’s worth the price of admission alone.

The main draw to Ba Na is of course, the gorgeous natural landscapes.
Coupled with the amazing panoramas are gardens and beautiful architecture, both of the village and the pagodas, at the top of the mountain.
Native birds and monkeys are often spotted amongst the meticulously manicured flowerbeds and orchards, reminiscent of royal gardens and palaces throughout Europe.
One can visit the DeBay wine cellar, built in 1923 and serving exquisite vintages. Set within the nearby forest stands the large Shakyamuni white Buddha statue. At the peak, after walking through the French village, a tranquil compound of pagodas and temples greets visitors who wish to be of calm mind and spirit. From this vantage point, one can get a birds eye view of the entire complex and mountain ranges. The views are breathtaking, the memories, priceless.
Also within the compound is the wonderful Tru Vu teahouse, serving freshly infused creations for guests sitting and contemplating the Zen architecture and garden.
With a little something for everyone, including shops, cafes, spas, entertainment and venues for pure relaxation, Ba Na Hills is a superb place to spend the night, and a must stop for anyone visiting Danang!
